Não tão breve assim (na próxima vez coloco: num futuro não tão distante), começa aqui o post sobre a certificação OCA para DBA Oracle 11G. Espero que vocês gostem.
Por que a 11G?
Após eu ter decidido fazer a OCA para DBA (mais detalhes). A primeira dúvida que surgiu foi para qual versão do Oracle estudar?
A princípio pensei na certificação para o Oracle 10G, por ser utilizado na Voice e também o mais usado atualmente no mundo. Porém, pesquisando melhor sobre para qual versão do Oracle seria melhor tirar a OCA, consultei a opinião de um especialista em Oracle, o Eduardo Legatti. No seu blog deixei a seguinte pergunta:

Gostaria de uma opinião sua, se possível, pretendo tirar a certificação OCA no segundo semestre desse ano (2009). Minha dúvida é: tiro para o Oracle 10G ou 11G?

Olá Fabrício,
O Oracle 11g release 1 foi lançado em Julho de 2007, ou seja, já faz 1 ano e meio … e acredito que neste ano (2009) será lançado a release 2. Portanto, quanto às certificações, acredito que já é hora de investir no Oracle 11g.

Já estava pensando em mudar para o Oracle 11G, por ele ser a versão mais nova, após a opinião do Eduardo, acabei confirmando essa decisão.
Como é a certificação?
Para obter o título de Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Associate, no nível OCA – Oracle Certified Associate, é necessário a realização de duas provas:
- Obrigatória: 1Z0-052 – Oracle Database 11G Administration
- Obrigatória: e o candidato deve escolher mais uma entre as quatro abaixo:
Mas uma dúvida surgiu: Qual das quatro provas fazer?
Eu fiquei entre a 1Z0-047 e a 1Z0-051. E acabei escolhendo a 1 Z0-051, por ter um menor número de conteúdo, comparado a 1 Z0-047. E também por eu está começando os meus estudos em Oracle e saber muito pouco sobre SQL.
Abaixo detalho cada uma das provas, a 1Z0-051 (que escolhi) e a 1Z0-052 .

Eu preciso fazer as provas em alguma sequência?
Não, tanto que você pode fazer, por exemplo, a 1Z0-051 hoje e fazer a 1Z0-052 só em dezembro.
Eu mesmo pretendo fazer a 1Z0-051 em julho e a 1Z0-052 em dezembro deste ano.
Material de estudo
Até o momento a melhor maneira de estudar para a certificação é através dos livros oficiais. Pois no Brasil ainda não há cursos voltados para a versão 11G, apenas para a 10G.
E esses livros são específicos para o exame e abordam os tópicos do exame de uma maneira bem clara e didática, trazendo ainda dicas e questões parecidas com o exame.
